Firefighters not only need strong physiques to adapt to various complex, changing, and dangerous environments, but also require outstanding professional skills, mastery of firefighting theory, techniques, and tactics. They must also possess excellent psychological qualities, remaining calm and composed in dangerous situations, maintaining good observation, memory, judgment, and thinking abilities.
They need good physical qualities such as strength, speed, endurance, agility, and flexibility to adapt to the needs of firefighting in complex, changing, and dangerous environments, completing missions in the shortest possible time and at the fastest speed; they need to adapt to prolonged firefighting and high-volume rescue and salvage operations; they need to persist in firefighting in any complex environment without personal injury. They need good adaptability to natural environments, able to fight fires in extreme cold, heat, wind, rain, and snow; and they need to possess a brave, tenacious, decisive, fearless, tireless, and continuous fighting spirit.
